CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR CHAMPIONSHIP SOFTBALL TEAM!!! Our Girl's Softball Team has completed a Three-Peat!!! They are City Champions for the third consecutive year. OUTSTANDING!!! SCHOOLNOTES TROUBLESHOOTING Some parents have reported signing up for notification of homework updates from their child's teachers, but have not received any. We have addressed part of the issue on the site. Please go to the COGS page, select the Cog or subject and click the website link next to the teacher's name. Then follow the directions for email updates. Finally, check your e-mail account's spam folder for an update message (usually once a week) and ok the email address. After this you should receive update notices in your normal email folder. CLOONAN SALUTES THE CAST AND CREW OF HUBBA HUBBA. This was another wonderful musical event. Our thanks and appreciation go out to the teachers and parents who worked so hard to support these performances. A special salute goes to Mr. Elias. After many decades of teaching and performance he has earned a special place at Cloonan. The cast and crew of Hubba Hubba 2008 dedicated the final performance to Mr. Elias. They have also raised money for a brass plaque to dedicate the the music area to their beloved director. Congratulations Mr. Elias!
CLOONAN WRESTLERS ARE CITY CHAMPS! Cloonan's wrestling team won the Stamford Youth Foundations 5th Annual City Championship Saturday March 8 at Westhill High School. Cloonan crowned three individual champions and several place winners in the tournament. For details click here. CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR BASKETBALL TEAMS Cloonan teams continue to dominate the sports world. Our Boy's Basketball team went UNDEFEATED! Our Girl's Basketball team had a similar record. Kudos to our scholar-athletes. CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR MATHLETES Cloonan's Competitive Math Team recently took five of the top awards in the last contest. They competed against students from private schools throughout lower Fairfield County. Way to go! Cloonan has a Special Guest Cloonan Students were inspired today by the surprise visit of Clifford Louis. Mr. Louis is a graduate of Cloonan, Westhill High School and Morgan State University. He just completed his rookie year and has signed a four-year contract with the Cleveland Browns. Mr. Louis visited with student during the lunch waves and spoke about the importance of education and healthy lifestyles. he then signed autographs and posed for pictures with the students. Magic Show Magician Jay Mattioli performed before a crowded Cloonan auditorium last Friday. The warm up band, Bulldog Magic, added it's own unique talents to the evening. Read more about his visit here. Mr. Rudolph "Sticks Around" On Thursday November 29 Mr. Rudolph was duct taped to the gymnasium wall. He remained stuck for 47 seconds. Congratulations to sixth grader Karen Lob who came closest to estimating how long Mr. Rudolph would stay up. This was a winning season for Cloonan football. Although the JV came up short in the championship game, they posted an impressive 7 - 1 record this season. The varsity team also had a winning record going 4 - 2. Cloonan is proud of its teams |
