Welcome to the PowerSchool Parent Portal!

Studies have shown that parental engagement in a child’s education is the single most important factor in student achievement.  As part of Stamford Public Schools continued effort to improve communication and engagement with our families, we are happy to let you know that we are launching our PowerSchool Parent Portal for all middle school and high school parents beginning on November 20, 2014.

This portal will provide you with secure access to information about your middle school and/or high school children’s grades and attendance records through a single account.  You will need a computer with internet access to create your account.  If you do not have access to a computer, you may visit the public library nearest you.

You can get started right away by following the steps in this document.  Please click HERE for English.  Please click HERE for Spanish.

Cloonan’s Cardboard Challenge

Cloonan’s SEA4 Buddies began participating in the 2014 Global Cardboard Challenge. The Stamford Education “4” Autism (SE4A) Buddies is a club at Cloonan Middle School that was created by students to help all children develop stronger social skills and spread the awareness of Autism to their peers attending the Stamford Public Schools. These students get together with students within the Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) class to do fun and educational activities. The club benefits all its members by building kind, caring, empathetic, and social members of society.  Please click HERE to read more information.

There is still a need for donations such as dog/cat food, rawhide treats, leashes, beds, blankets, shampoos, etc. They will be picked up from home rooms this week on 12/9, and 12/11.

On Monday, 12/15, Pet Valu at 1131 High Ridge Road in Stamford is teaming up with our 6th grade fundraiser. Cloonan students will be volunteering at the dog wash, and all money made from 3-6 pm will be donated to this fabulous Cloonan cause for the animal shelter. The first 20 customers will receive a free dog wash for their next visit to the dog wash at Pet Valu.

S4 Study Skills

S4 Study Skills

As you may know, Cloonan Middle School is working with S4 Study Skills to offer your 6th grade student foundational study skills that will support their study practice and help them achieve greater academic success. There is no charge for the program.

As such, today was the first of the ten-week-ten hour program. To best demonstrate how the skills will benefit your student, we are working with the 6th grade social studies teachers, Mr Humphrey and Ms Bolcer, and using their materials to demonstrate how to use and apply the skills.

But we would like help and support as well! Please use this guide as a way to encourage your student to show what they know, and actively use the skills.  For more information on what was covered on week one click HERE, week three click HERE, week four click HERE, week five click HERE and for week six click HERE.

Leave A Legacy

Leave A Legacy

Cement your child’s legacy at Cloonan by purchasing a commemorative plaque(s) to be permanently displayed in the school’s front entry.  Purchasing a plaque is a great way to leave a lasting student/family legacy on the walls of Cloonan, beautify the school, convey Cloonan school pride … all while raising funds to support the school.

Each 2”x 8” plaque can be customized with up to three lines of text. You can consider including your student or family name, year of graduation, nickname, sports played, or favorite saying.  You may also consider customizing a plaque for each of your Cloonan students (including former students), in honor of a special staff member, or in memory of a former student.  These plaques can be ordered at any time throughout the year.  Click HERE for the order form.   Help us build Cloonan’s Legacy Wall … order your plaque today!
