Cement your child’s legacy at Cloonan by purchasing a commemorative plaque(s) to be permanently displayed in the school’s front entry.  Purchasing a plaque is a great way to leave a lasting student/family legacy on the walls of Cloonan, beautify the school, convey Cloonan school pride … all while raising funds to support the school.

Each 2”x 8” plaque can be customized with up to three lines of text. You can consider including your student or family name, year of graduation, nickname, sports played, or favorite saying.  You may also consider customizing a plaque for each of your Cloonan students (including former students), in honor of a special staff member, or in memory of a former student.  These plaques can be ordered at any time throughout the year.  Click HERE for the order form.   Help us build Cloonan’s Legacy Wall … order your plaque today!

Cloonan Middle School recognizes that in our diverse community, each child is an individual and has an inherent capacity for learning. Cloonan’s mission is to create a safe and nurturing environment of learning excellence for early adolescents in which all stakeholders work as partners to equip students with the knowledge, skills, character, compassion, confidence and desire to build successful lives and communities.

Cloonan Scholars will competed in the

National Science Bowl Middle School Competition

Saturday, February 28 at the University of Connecticut, Storrs Campus.

The kids did well and enjoyed the experience.  They placed 17th in the Round Robin out of 32.

The team is coached by Science Teacher, Mr. Doug DeGennaro and Parents, Mr. & Mrs. Sahu and Mr. Jha.  Thank You!

The National Science Bowl (NSB) middle school competition

began in 2002 as a highly competitive science education and academic

event among teams of middle school students who compete in a

fast-paced verbal forum to solve technical problems and answer questions

in all branches of science and math.

Each team is composed of four students, one alternate student,

and a coach.  Regional and national events encourage student

involvement in math and science activities of importance to

the Department of Energy and the Nation.
